England in the 19th century was a place of luxury, beauty and culture for the rich, but it was a cold hard place for the poor. Even children had to work for their food. LYfe was hard and death was never far away. Oliver Twist was a young orphan who grew up in a workhouse. He ran away ro London, looking for a better life. But London was dangerous for a child alone!
